3D seam welding machine

For complex geometries with multi-axis seams

Coordinated movement for complex suture patterns

3D seam welding machines from Klumpp Welding are designed for components with spatially curved or rotationally symmetrical geometries — wherever simple robot axes are not sufficient. The workpiece is clamped into a robot axis and actively moved during the welding process while the torch is guided at the same time. In this way, three-dimensional seams can be produced precisely, automatically and repeatably — for example on radiator grilles or other complex-shaped components.

Robot with integrated turning/swivel table model 3D-RD

Model 3D-rdThis compact solution combines an industrial robot with a CNC-controlled rotary swivel table. This allows workpieces to be precisely aligned in space and positioned in several axes. The robot guides the torch while the table dynamically tilts and rotates the component — ideal for complex welding positions on rotationally symmetrical or angled components. The system offers a high degree of flexibility with changing geometries and enables continuous seams without clamping.

Robot including linear axis model 3D-RL

Model 3D-RL

The robot is mounted on a movable linear axis, which means that even larger components or several stations can be processed one after the other. The system is ideal for long components or cycle lines that require a long range and movement length — without sacrificing precision.

Robot including rotary axis model 3D-RR

Model 3D-RR

The additional rotary axis makes it possible to create complex circular seams or comprehensive welding geometries. The components are transferred via a rotating device to the robot, which adaptively controls the welding process. Particularly suitable for cylinders, pipes or cone-shaped components.

Multi-axis welding using tactic table model 3D-TT

Mehr-Achsen-Schweißen mittels Takttisch

Model 3D-TT

With the 3D-TT model, the workpieces are routed intermittently through several automated welding stations — completely without robotics. Each station is designed for a specific seam shape or component position and works with permanently installed linear or rotary axes. The control table takes over the transport of components, which means that welding processes take place in short succession and with high repeatability. Particularly suitable for series with complex geometries, which focus on high cycle rates and robust process reliability.

Combined circular and linear axis model 3D-RL+

Model 3D-RL+

By simultaneously controlling linear and rotary drives, complex 3D contours can be realized along rotationally symmetrical workpieces. The system enables seamless transitions during welding processes with varying angles and depths — perfect for demanding geometries in plant engineering or automotive.

Model 3D-STL

This modular system combines a swivel positioning table with two synchronized linear axes. As a result, workpieces can be precisely aligned in space and welded in several axes in a process-reliable manner. Particularly suitable for large, asymmetrical components and highly dynamic multi-layer welding.
