Longitudinal seam welding machine
For linear seam connections in automated manufacturing processes

Reproducible, stable and in line with requirements
Longitudinal seam welding machines from Klumpp Welding are used to produce straight welds along the longitudinal axis of sheets or rotationally symmetrical components. The machines precisely guide the welding head and enable stable, repeatable processes.
Suitable clamping and positioning devices are available for different requirements, which securely fix the component and align it to the defined seam length. The welding machine and process are selected on a customer-specific basis.
Longitudinal seam technology forms the basis for various types of machines. The longitudinal seam is often used as part of a multi-stage manufacturing process, for example in container construction in combination with circular seam processes.
We flexibly adapt our basic models of longitudinal seam welding machines to individual customer requirements. We have virtually no limits when it comes to the length, height and width of the workpieces.
The mandrel is optionally available in a rotatable version. In this way, several rails can be opened at the same time and used one after the other by simply turning them on, so that different materials can be welded without complex retooling. In addition, the front clamping area can be designed as a separate mechanism to clamp independently of the main clamping system.

The longitudinal seam welding machine is intended for classic applications and is limited to its core functions. It has various locking pins and is operated in such a way that the workpiece — such as a container — is positioned below the machine.

This machine has an integrated lift table to position the component. The workpiece can thus be raised, lowered and moved out of the system. Thanks to its raised design, the machine also allows larger containers to be placed in the lower working area.

This version is equipped with a mechanical press and is usually combined with a lift table. The presser is used to securely position the component before the welding process, especially in the case of thicker sheets.

The roof training machine is designed as an integrated solution for manufacturing container lids. An inserted round plate is first clamped on one side and then pulled into shape with a presser — directly on the same machine. The combination of forming and longitudinal seam welding in one operation makes it a 2-in-1 solution developed exclusively by Klumpp Welding. In principle, this design can also be used to weld containers above the machine

These machines are designed for applications where the container is positioned and assembled above the machine. In contrast to the standard version, in which the workpiece is guided underneath, the longitudinal seam welding is carried out from above.

This machine can be swivelled 90 degrees. The container is first oriented in an upright position and then brought into a welding position. The advantage: The weld pool remains stable and controllable — ideal for process-reliable longitudinal seams.

This system combines longitudinal and circular weld welding in one system. A central cantilever moves the components between the stations so that both seam shapes can be processed in one go — for greater efficiency in the manufacturing process.
